Chevron Retirement Benefits

Michael Ram was co-counsel for Chevron employees at a Richmond, California, refinery, who alleged that they were misled about their eligibility for a downsizing program allowing employees to voluntarily leave the company prior to retirement and receive greater benefits.

The case was tried before U.S. District Judge William Alsup, who rendered a judgment in favor of most of the employees. Judge Alsup held that the employees were "actively misinformed" about whether a final decision had been made about offering the package.
